|For The Outlaws, it was always about the music. For 40 years, the Southern Rock legends celebrated triumphs, endured tragedies and survived legal nightmares to remain one of the most influential and best-loved bands of the genre.
Now The Outlaws return with new music, new focus and an uncompromising new mission: It’s about a band of brothers bound together by history, harmony and the road. It’s about a group that respects its own legacy while refusing to be defined by its past. But most of all, it’s about pride.
|Like gold in the Cumberland River, Greg Bates is that rare find of an artist: one born and raised right in Nashville. In the most genuine sense, he is a true product of Music City, motivated not by the trappings of country-music stardom, but by the reward of a well-written lyric. For Greg, it really did all start with a song.
“I was crazy about reading liner notes,” says the 24-year-old singer, guitarist and songwriter, who is poised to release his self-titled major-label debut on Republic Nashville. “I started picking up patterns of certain songwriters and hearing them in the music, and that was always the coolest thing to me.”
Track side festival style tickets are $25 and the grandstand is $20. You can get them at Countryside Veterinary Clinic and are available now. Just call 376-6563 and ask for Donna.
No seats are provided track side (Festival style). Everyone is on their feet anyway.

From deep in the swamps of Florida comes Kachunga, a real American Bushman who dares to step foot into the wet domain of the alligator. Watch in astonishment as he apprehends a ferocious man-eating reptile with his bare hands. Most people have never seen an alligator up close. The mystique of these giant reptiles is in itself a big draw. Now imagine the thrill of watching a man pit his strength and agility against nine feet 300 Ibs. of lashing tail and gnashing jaws in a dangerous dance of reflexes and cunning. Kachunga's struggle with the alligator keeps each member of the audience on the edge of their seat biting their nails and curling their toes.
